Purchasing our puppy “Timber?from Ken Youngs Michigander Retrievers was easily one of the best decisions my wife and I have ever made. We did lots of research and spoke with several breeders, but Ken and his family stood out among the rest. They work incredibly hard to make sure they are producing not only the healthiest sporting dog possible, but an incredible family dog as well. Ken gave us several updates and pictures of the litter leading up to the day we could pick up our girl Timber. We drove from our home in Peoria, IL to pick her up, and Ken was kind enough to meet us part way to make our trip a little shorter. From the day we brought her home, Timber has been an incredible addition to our family. Her drive and eagerness to please has made her training very smooth and successful. One reason we chose Michigander Retrievers is we wanted a dog that has an “off switch? Timber is a great example of this. She runs 110% percent whenever we are outside doing retrieving work or just playing around. However, once she walks through the door she knows it’s time to relax and cuddle on the couch with us and our other dog. We are very fortunate to have such beautiful and sweet dog that is shaping up to be a wonderful hunting companion. We want to thank Michigander Retrievers for allowing us to purchase one of their puppies. Ken and Kristen continue to stay in contact with us to see how Timber is doing which is a great testament of how much they care about their dogs. My wife and I hope to purchase more puppies from them in the future.

I want to thank you for your help with Nero in achieving some of our personal goals. Your professional training really showed off this past August when he earned his HR (Seasoned Title) at Kankakee Valley HRC. Your help in recognizing our weakness and improving on our strengths during our weekly training sessions really provided us success. This past waterfowl season really showed off his abilities. Nero had several duck hunts where he needed to make those long blind retrieves. His ability surprised me several times. Nero and I look forward to working with you this upcoming year. Thank you again,

“Few people have the passion for Retriever training and performance that Ken Youngs does at Michigander Retrievers. Ken worked with our dog Hogan and what he accomplished was nothing short of impressive. Ken’s attention to detail and focus on each dogs individual needs are what make him and the dogs he trains successful. I would recommend Ken to anyone looking for a retriever trainer for the field or hunt tests.

Ken Youngs is a super guy. I chose him to train two of my lab’s. I went 400 miles to get to him. I was very impressed on his training abilities and the excellent communication during the entire training process. I am a repeat client purchasing a new pup from him this past spring which we are delighted with the breeding.
